Don't You Wish Your Momma Could Cook Like Mine? - Due Out 2011
Have you ever had a mother who just couldn't cook? Who unimaginably messed up recipes straight out of a book?
I thought my mom was trying to make oxtail soup,
But when it came off the stove, it looked more like alien goop.
I started to sweat as her footsteps came near How much more could a nine year old fear?
Today I just wasn't in the mood. How could I digest such horrible food?
All I wanted to eat was burgers and fries, Some pizza too--wouldn't that be a great surprise?
Mom, I Fired The Babysitter!
When the babysitter first came she said her name was Sue
She told me, "I'm so happy to be spending time with you."
She promised that together we'd have lots of fun
I knew she was lying, so I stuck out my tongue.
"When my mom and dad are gone,
I'm master of this house and king of the throne
Why can't you just leave me alone?
Babysitter, stop trying to tell me what to do,
Or else I will end up firing you!"
Living With Mom, Spending Time With Dad
I saw my dad packing his bag as he continued to shout,
While mom kept yelling for him to get out!
I couldn't help but wonder, "What was the driving force?
Why did Mom and Dad decide to get a divorce?"
I looked at Mom and Dad with tears in my eyes.
While each of them yelled, "Stop telling lies!"
I thought Mom loved Dad and he loved her back.
Was that how love made people act?
I Can't Wait Till I'm Five!
My brother Stephen is seven and he goes to school.
He says I can't go because I'm not cool.
When the clock strikes eight,
He grabs his bag and rushes out the gate.
I know my ABC's
I know my 1-2-3's
I know my favorite colors and red blue and green
So why do I have to wait till I'm five?
